Job Description:

  1. Curriculum Implementation
  • Oversee the implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum across all subjects, ensuring alignment with Cambridge International standards
  • Regularly review and update curriculum materials to reflect best practices and educational innovations.
  • Coordinate the integration of Cambridge assessments, including IGSCE and A-level preparations, into the academic program.
  • To prepare schemes of work/lesson plans and teach students according to the set timetable.
  • To plan, organize, direct and co-ordinate the teaching programs and activities of staff and students.
  • To prepare academic plans, programs and schedules (time table) of the school.
  1.  Leadership and Management   
  • Provide strong leadership to academic staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of teaching practices and provide constructive feedback to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • To offer career guidance to students, plan for and coordinate career days
  • Organize and lead academic meetings and professional development workshops focused on Cambridge curriculum delivery.
  • To liaise with Universities and recruitment agents for purposes of counseling and guiding students
  • To spearhead the interviews and admissions of new students
  • To organize orientation programs for new staff members
  • To ensure effective and efficient maintenance of records, resources material, facilities and information services for efficient accountability
  • To be the key contact person and handle correspondences with the examining body. (University of Cambridge)
  • To identify man power needs and recommend candidates for recruitment
  • To prepare and take candidates through the online registration for CAIE examinations and make appropriate entries for them for the May/June and October/November sessions
  • To establish CAIE examinations charges and bill each candidate based on the subjects to be attempted
  • To organize and facilitate training of CAIE examinations invigilators
  • To continuously monitor and update management on any developments at CAIE
  1.  Professional Development.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and effective teaching methodologies
  • Ensure teacher participation in Cambridge training programs and workshops.
  • To identify training/development needs and recommend teachers for career development courses/training
  1. Collaboration and Communication.
  • Organize academic events, such as information sessions for parents and student showcases, to promote engagement with the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding academic programs, students’ progress, and Cambridge initiatives.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to align academic goals with the overall mission of the school.
  • To advise and guide parents and students on subject choice with a focus on career prospects and interest
  1. Budget Management.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the academic budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support learning activities and initiatives.

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a Cambridge curriculum or international school setting.
  • Proven track record of improving student academic performance and teacher effectiveness in a Cambridge environment.
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education – BA(ED), BSC(ED), BED, PGDE
  • Cambridge international education (CIE) accredited teacher training certificate
