About ICT for Persons with disabilites

Uganda Communication Commission(UCC) in accordance with its mandate under section 3 and 5 of the Uganda Communications Act 2013 through UCUSAF is desirous of extending services to the unserved and underserved parts of the country with activities related to addressing digital inclusiveness of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), by enhancing knowledge management, ICT adoption, digital skills and access to E-services for persons with disabilities across the country through this project.

UCC in partnership with NUDIPU and Eight Tech Consults conceptualized a three (3) year project broadly phased into 3 phases;
the First Year (Phase 1): focused on the development of an inclusive National PWD digital observatory to improve PWD data management,
Second Year (Phase 2) on operationalization of the digital observatory
Year 3 (Phase 3): on digital literacy training and awareness creation on ICTs and their potential among various categories of PWDs.

"To promote digital inclusiveness for Persons with Disabilities through the use of ICT enabled technologies."

Facilitate and encourage the development of electronic networks and systems for associations and organizations engaged in the advancement of Persons with Disabilities issues in the country
