Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Documentation:
- Collect, review, and maintain accurate financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and payment records.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly documented and recorded.
- Transaction Processing:
- Assist in processing financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with financial regulations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist the Chief Finance Officer in preparing financial reports, including program accounts and donor reports.
- Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Financial Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.
- Ensure that financial records are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure that financial transactions and records comply with financial regulations and donor requirements.
- Provide support to the Chief Finance Officer during audits and financial reviews.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with non-profit organizations or similar entities.
- Familiarity with donor reporting and compliance requirements.
- Certification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
