About the Job
The Communication and Prevention Manager based in Kampala is the focal point for all matters related to public and Movement communications and Prevention for the URB Delegation. S/he is responsible for setting and implementing priorities, objectives and strategies. S/he reviews the organisation of the communication and Prevention department and set-up of URB, helps design and implement an integrated set-up across the three sites of URB delegation. S/he directs the orientation, planning, monitoring and evaluation of the delegation’s communication and prevention, acts as spokesperson and provides technical support and supervision to all staff involved in public and Movement communications and prevention on ICRC sites in Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda. S/he contributes to building and implementing an approach in which communication and prevention activities are integrated into other ICRC programmes.

Functional Responsibilities:
· Leads the strategic orientation of the delegation’s communication and prevention work in coordination with URB senior management, Missions in Burundi and Rwanda, and relevant departments at HQ and regional level.
· Oversees the annual communication planning process (Planning for Results) and ensures alignment with operational priorities and institutional objectives.
